This version of Mildred Pierce is horrible... the writing , the acting are dreadful .. settings are good... Winslet lets her english accent enter the scenes too often ( why not an American actress ) Streep always seems to be criticized for her taking English roles ( Thatcher )... the little girl playing Veda is amateurish .. have not yet seen the episodes with Rachel Evan Wood. I would say watch the original version ... this one drags for the first 3 episodes.
I have nothing to say but this. Veda is a cunt. This miniseries made me not to want a child. If I were Mildred, I'd shoot her right off her head.
