We've gone clip happy in this roundup because there are things to gawk at and it's a slow weekend online, everyone being outdoors where it's awfully hard to look at computer screens.

Look! it's a camcordy peak at the teaser for David Fincher's Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It's very rapid fire "greatest hits" of the now well-known story but it looks enticing (as Fincher's films always do)
Look! it's Lindsay Lohan in a "psychological portrait" that's basically riffing on famous screen imagery from the 60s. But if a "psychological portrait" is only homages to great European and Scandinavian cinema, what is that actually saying about the object of the study. I'm not sure I see the point. But some of the images are very pretty even if Lindsay's psychology is not.
Look! It's Drew returning as "Chloe" for a special Memory-ial day video. For the life of me I can't decide what makes these "Chloe" spots so funny but they're just brilliant bliss.

Sheen's big movie roles (Frost/Nixon, The Queen, Underworld) always reveal a very solid actor but I prefer him best when he's using that actor's wit like he is here. He has fun with his self-aggrandizing know-it-all in Midnight in Paris as well. As much fun as Woody allows him to have, I mean. He's barely in it.

I've been watching the "Dragon Tattoo" leak too much for my own good. I know that it's an unwritten rule that movie fans should object to US remakes, but I honestly think Fincher and co. are going to blow the Swedish film out of the water (not exactly a Herculean task, but still...). I love that Zaillian's script supposedly makes changes to the source material; that doesn't happen nearly enough these days, and Larrson's books are faaaaaaaaaar from perfect. Assuming all goes well, I'm hoping Fincher directs parts 2 and 3 (I read somewhere that he wasn't going to). "The Girl Who Played With Fire," my favorite of the books, was a complete disaster as a film, especially Nyqvist's performance. In other words: GO TEAM FINCHER.
On a separate note: Michael Sheen ought to do a video series where he reads bad/overwrought/purple/etc fanfiction. "My Immortal" would be an absolute riot with him as narrator.
I love Chloe so much. At first I thought "gee, Kylie Minogue's upbeat hit 'Wow'" is sort of off-brand for these parodies: until I remembered that nothing could be too highbrow or lowbrow, too mainstream or obscure, for Chloe. Her is world like going down a rabbit hole of irony and sincerity.
This is OT, but I thought you might be encouraged... I saw Potiche last night in Montreal in its fourth week of release at an AMC cinema, and it was sold out. We had to sit in the way front. I really enjoyed, but the real lesson is, Montreal rocks.
I don't like Lindsay's new lips. I hadn't realized until this video just how prominently altered they've become. The hair, aged face, etc. speak for themselves. Oh, Lindsay...
But I loved Midnight in Paris! It seems to be a bit of a fast fade (saw it yesterday) but it's as close to a throwback to Manhattan and The Purple Rose of Cairo as Woody's put out in a looooong time... easily his best since the 90s, I'd say. Super joyous and never overly pretentious or Woodified. Kudos to him for chucking the voiceover and going back to the formula of an ensemble of great actors having fun exploring romantic/intellectual ideas. Each new city invigorates him, and he seems to have figured that out, so I expect he'll try yet another one soon. Venice?

Mike -- yay. as long as non-Hollywood films can make money somewhere they'll still keep getting made.
I haven't read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or seen the Swedish films and I only have a vague idea that it might involve rape and Nazis(?) so, even with Fincher involved, I wasn't really that interested- until I watched this trailer that is! Karen O singing Immigrant Song, Daniel Craig walking down the street looking cool, old guy on a stairlift, snow, the feel! bad! movie! of! Christmas!- well done to whoever put the ad together because I am now excited for this movie.
Honestly, I look at the trailer for Girl with a DT ... and I just see a videoclip, a nice videoclip with hip music and nice fast editing? Yes, but a videoclip. It could be from this movie, from a Swedish version of Zodiac or Scream 4. I don't understand the excitement. And I don't understand that hip thing of looking down on the original novels either. Everyone read them, but now it seems nobody liked them?
Chloe Sevigny reminds me of Courtney Love in interviews...they're always interesting to me because she always says something weird about someone famous. I LOVE her Woody Allen story:

Adam Keller - Woody is indeed headed to a new city for his next film. It's set in Rome and will start shooting in July.

Wow, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer looked amazing. For me Noomi Rapace will be difficult to beat in the role of Lisbeth Salander but I can't wait to see it now.
can we stop ripping on lindsay? she probably looks better than you anyway. I liked the video, there's something i liked about her eyes, though, for whatever reason. Atleast, for her, this is something different and quite pretty. I was never a big fan but I always sensed she has something special to bring to the table that I still want to see. This deserves encouragement not beauty critiques.
I actually liked The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the first movie, haven't seen the other two) and Noomi Rapace was excellent, I thought. I'm not sure how to feel about the remake. not excited or turned off but I am kinda curious. The only thing i didnt like about the previous movie was the character of mikael blomkvist, I found his scenes without Lisbeth just so boring especially in contrast her. I just wanted her onscreen most of the time :) she's just too badass.
