Coming Soon the cast of Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom follow up The Grand Budapest Hotel is revealed. I'm sad that there's no Anjelica Huston (I need her in my Wes movies) but it's fun to know that some regulars will return and the newbies Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law and Saoirse Ronan, who has, according to the man himself "quite a big part" are exciting gets.
/Film wonders if Famke Janssen has a cameo in The Wolverine. Ooh, that'd be sweet.

Glad to see Hooper singling out Redmayne in that interview. His rendition of Empty Chairs, and again this is coming from a Les Miz virgin, knocked me out, probably even more so than the far more popular I Dreamed A Dream and On My Own.

I avoided all reviews of 'Les Mis' prior to me seeing it since I'm a HUGE fan of the stage musical that shaped my theatre admiration. Save for a few numbers ('Dream', 'Chair' & 'On My Own), I was heavily disappointed. I so want to see how Hooper defends his decisions (including the continual use of closeups) and maybe gain a better understanding because I so badly want to like this film ... and he justified it by citing the effectiveness it had on Anne's performance and therefore using it for everyone else? Oy.

But yes, Eddie Redmayne was a true discovery here. I knew he could act (he was amazeballs in 'Red'- the play, not the film), but dude can also sing!

I laughed so hard at the Michael Murray piece. Mostly because that would probably be me if I ever met Marion.

I wish Wes Anderson would change the name of the movie, this just makes me think it's like a sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. (I'm only half joking)

That Marion interview made me laugh out loud, but that would so be me also.

I would sincerely love a dose of Famke in the next X-Men movie. So much love for that woman.

But i really wanted to talk about Kate Winslet getting engaged. Horribly selfish of me, but i was totally disappointed to hear that. She needs to marry Leonardo DiCaprio and live happily ever after. It is kind of embarrassing to admit but I'm still rooting for those two. They would be SUCH a good couple and would be infinitely more interesting than Brad and Angelina. I loved the press tour with the both of them for Revolutionary Road. They were so sweet together. Especially when she won her Golden Globes and heaped so much affection for him in her speech.

He can stop with the models and realize that Kate's perfect for him. Imagine how much more fun he'd be? I don't ever "ship" couples or whatever you call it, but if they got together, i would be firmly on that boat.

Plus, such a good story to tell the kids! "Dad, where did you meet mom?" "We met while filming one of the biggest movies the world has ever seen..."

I wish Kate would come out of her post-Oscar slump, which seems to derive from the following psychology: "I worked so hard for so many years to receive the accolade of accolades, so let me rest on a Caribbean isle and find true love, even if he's a wacky billionaire whose stupid name cries out, 'I'm temporary!'"

Jennifer Lawrence as Manic Pixie Dreamgirl in "Silver Linings" reminded me of how great Kate was as the same character in "Eternal Sunshine."

The Marion piece is not funny. It is sexist.

cal -- i thought it was hilarious but then mayb i just think so because it's so funny as a satire about interviewing celebrities and also so true about Marion's literalness.

Marcelo -- hmmm. i thought i'd republished it but i'm having trouble finding. I shall ressurect. I know it's on my hard drive somewhere.

I'm so glad that Sasha pointed out the uber-hypocrisy of the kind of "films" Tarantion gets away with on the backs of black culture that Spike Lee would be damn near crucified for doing. If one's getting afree pass, then the other one damn well should be too. Post-racial America, my ass.
