The Link is Doomed

How Are You I'm Fine Thanks has an adorkable crush on Hawkeye from The Avengers but thinks he's going to get Jossed. Yeah, he's evil that way.
Coming Soon Yep, Barbra Streisand is still trying to get Gypsy remade. They've now hired Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park, Downton Abbey) for the screenplay.
Salon hung with Peyman Moadi (A Separation) during his Oscar trip and recounts all the star meetings (Streep, Pitt, etcetera). Note: Salon spells it Payman Maadi.
In Contention Viola Davis settling into leading-lady status. Will she avoid Angela Bassett's fate?

Rope of Silicon listens to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo audio commentary. I love that David Fincher talks about Scotty the cat! The best part of a movie is always the cat...if it has anything to work with, that is.
24 Frames
examines the reasons John Carter may have failed and one of them -- too complex for the Transformers crowd -- is way too depressing for me. Yikes.

Must Read!
Pajiba our friend Joanna who you've met on a few episodes of "red carpet lineup" right here shares 115 reasons to love Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The show just celebrated it's 15th anniversary. Can you believe it?.

I loved this visual countdown so much I almost read it twice in a row. Let me know your favorites of her 115.

Must Vote!
Vanity Fair is hosting a "sexiest animated character" March Madness bracket (i keep wanting to do a tournament and I never settle on one topic. grrrr). You need to go and vote because clearly people are voting not on sexiness but just on which movie they like. I'm sorry but how is Belle (Beauty & The Beast) sexier than Pocahontas (Pocahontas) even if her movie is way better!

Must Watch!
It's only 11 days until MAD MEN returns! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... it's the only show post-Buffy that we've ever obsessed over as much. Can't wait to see which movies they'll reference this year... and which year they're even in for that matter.

Yay Mad Men!

I very much doubt that John Carter failed because it was "too complex." It failed (failed being a relative term, since it made over $100 million worldwide this weekend) because it was poorly marketed, and to a lesser degree because the entertainment media at large decided this movie needed to have a target on its back months ago and made sure to do their part, however limited it might be. Pretty sure that's it.

When you post your link collection, I almost always end up with a row of open tabs to read through. I really appreciate it and discovered some interesting pages through you. Thanks!

Pretty much almost just broke out in tears when I saw that picture for "The Episodes That We'll Never Forget," has there ever been a more powerful episode of anything?

Fincher's commentary always is the best part of his movie

There is no way on earth Flynn Rider should be losing that contest.

And this was so not the point of that In Contention article, but when Guy Lodge called Hollywood "No Country for Older Women," it made me desperately wish I could watch a version of that movie with women in all of the genders reversed. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Cate Blanchett as an Anton Chigurh, Kerry Washington as a Llewellyn Moss, and Gena Rowlands as a Ed Tom Bell?

I hope you're coming to the Paley Center event for the premiere!

Loved Pajiba's list but... I did grow to love Dawn, and I did root for Buffy and Riley.

Agree Adam was a big Meh, though.

Reason 99. I cannot stress enough how important this one is. That image alone would justify a lesser series.

The problem with this new adaptation of Gypsy isn't that its being done, its that its being done with barbra streisand who is far too old for the role. Gypsy has never received a proper adaptation and I've been saying for years that if they just stuck to arthur laurents libretto, got some talent that can really sing and act, and a decent director it would make a great film. Hell, I'd even be in favor of Barbra directing it because she could bring a woman's perspective on two such fascinating characters, but her starring is a bad, horrid, and miserable mistake. There is a reason Laurents wasn't really on board for this. Gypsy would make an amazing film... just not this version please.

Omg....the Buffy list. Love so many of them. Can't possibly choose.

I actually recently watched the first episode of Ringer and obviously it's no Buffy, but it was surprisingly very watchable. And I forgot how much I love SMG on my screen...I didn't realize how good it would feel to be watching her again.

That Buffy countdown was so great! I gotta say that I always tend to skew the opposite direction of what all the huge Buffy fans like. I actually really liked Dawn, especially in episodes like The Body, Forever and Him. I didn't like Xander much in the first 3 seasons, except when he was with Cordelia. His jealousy and hate for Angel really irritated me, but once Anya came around I grew to like him more and appreciated his place in the Scoobies. Totally get the hate for Riley though, I don't think I'll ever like him. Also, I find it weird how much people dislike season 6. I think 2 and 6 are the best out of the series with 5 and 3 just barely below them.

I wanna watch the whole series again now!

That Buffy list made me clap several times. I'll never love another show like I loved that show.

Nathaniel - I'll give you Pocahontas over Belle - but don't tell me you voted for Aurora over Tiana? Sure, Aurora is extremely beautiful - but sexy?

Regarding the animated characters sex appeal tournament (someone was paid actual money to come up with that? How can I get that job?) The male characters are a bit of a wash for me. But I CANNOT believe that "Adult Simba" is winning over the Beast. PLEASE, people.

What the hell? Streisand is in her SEVENTIES! Why does she think she can play Mama Rose on screen believably? Maybe they'll change it so she's the grandmother instead of mother. This sounds like the vanity project to end all vanity projects. Surprised no one's talking about how ridiculous this news is.

"I'm sorry but how is Belle (Beauty & The Beast) sexier than Pocahontas (Pocahontas) even if her movie is way better!"

Omg, I was just about to say the same thing....what the fack.
