Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (1937) was so fun to watch again. I could do a massive post like those 101 Dalmatians or Toy Story look backs. Have you watched Snow recently? I picked Sorcery because it seems the most exotic and powerful. I was totally surprised to see if had been picked the most so far. I think it will be filled with Disneyfied pictures of bewitching things to do (in all their forms...dangerous, sensual, outrageous, amazing...)
I LOVE that the Disney crew put Astrology on the very bad girl's shelf of books. So funny! And only you would find it and highlight it like this. xo
Im really looking forward to the harrelson/mcconaughey tv show. Im a big mcconaughey fan and think he is really making a return now. Are you excited for KIller Joe? I actually already saw The Paperboy and loved that.

I would choose Black Arts because I'm artistic and black suits me as a colour. I would also go for Dark Blue Arts.
And I would totally expect a chapter in there with the title: Oscars. How Harvey does it. Shhh, it's a secret.

1) Black arts, b/c popular wisdom has it that good is more interesting than bad
2) The term black arts gave me the association of something I read once somewhere on the internet, where some Christian fundamentalist woman claimed that teenage boys use Aleister Crowley's black magic to jinx girls to like them and do things with them and that something like that this kind of magic could sometimes be useful...
3) I've seen a documentary once that the Nazis engaged in a lot of pseudoscience, probably also astrology .... maybe therefore the connection of astrology and evil.
Btw - having seen a couple of Disney films as a kid of course, and been a huge fan of Donald Duck back then - today I am actually one of those cyncists who likes to make the connection between Disney and evil (as the Simpsons and South Park both did it e.g.), but this looked too interesting for me, even if it comes from Mickey's evil empire.

I had such a blast writing this one. The Evil Queen rules.
"Black Arts", because I'm a fan of the gold leaf and royal purple combination. Also, I presume that it's more of a general survey than Black Magic or Witchcraft would be.

I am a materials engineer by trade and training, so of course I have to open up the text on Alchemy to find out how to really turn lead into gold without having a cyclotron and about 500,000 years at my disposal.
Even in the thirties, Astrology was considered the 'anti-science', and if we know nothing else about Walt, he was an unrepentant believer in Science and Technology solving all of mankind's problems any minute now... So a little dig by Walt and Company at one of the true poster-child subjects for those who want to give up all pretense of rational thought is not a real surprise.

I chose "Alchemy" because that's the one book I wasn't sure what it meant (I'm too lazy right now to Google the definition). In opening it, I guess I was expecting to find the joy I found in reading that book "The Alchemist", lol.
