Hepburn's lack of fondness for you know who endears her to me.

The last Kate movie I saw was ---- I have no idea, I need to see her screwball comedies at least twice a year*.

My favourite Hepburn film is probably Bringing Up Baby/Queen of Africa because they're just polar opposites. And she deserved the Oscar....She had four Oscars, even though she's my favourite actress of all time, nobody needs 4 or 5 Oscars.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I ___ thought it was a bad joke.

* As I continue with my cleaning, looking at old magazines and pictures, I just realized there're very few cinematic treats in my life I really need. So in no particular order: Katharine Hepburn, Alfred Hitchcok, Michelle Pfeiffer, Montgomery Clift, Woody Allen, Pedro Almodóvar and a couple of good horror movies a year. Of course I like many other things, but those are my essentials.

The last Kate movie that I saw was On Golden Pond which I loved.

My favorite Hepburn film is The Lion in Winter and she totally deserved the Oscar for The Lion in Winter.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I didn't know what to think but now I truly like her performance.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterFritz

The last Kate movie that I saw was GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER which WHICH MADE ME LOVE HER WITH SPENCER TRACY EVEN MORE.

My favorite Hepburn film is ON GOLDEN POND and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for MORNING GLORY, THE PHILADELPHIA STORY, SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER & ON GOLDEN POND.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I FELT THAT UNLIKE MOST BIOPIC PERFORMANCES SHE DID NOT TRY SO HARD TO BE HEPBURN BUT HER IDEA OF HEPBURN.

last movie I saw was "bringing up Baby" for the 10th time.
Favorite movie is ":"lion in Winter" amazing performance.
Never saw aviator

The last Katharine Hepburn movie I saw was Holiday, which is incredibly delightful (if a bit stagy) and with Bringing Up Baby part of a great 1938.

My favorite Katharine Hepburn film is Bringing Up Baby and she totally deserved the Oscar for Alice Adams, Bringing Up Baby and Summertime (I think).

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator, she was amazing and the made the parts of the movie without her feel a little deflated.

The last Kate movie that I saw was 'Long Day's Journey Into Night' which was one of Kate's finest performances, just as anyone told me.

My favorite Hepburn film is 'The Lion in Winter' and she totally deserved the Oscar for it. I Her other three Oscar wins aren't even among my Top 10 Kate performances (although 'Morning Glory' might come close) - somehow the Academy just kept picking the lesser ones when it came to honoring her (for the record, in my universe she won Oscars for 'Summertime' and 'Suddenly, Last Summer', and the three reasons she didn't also win for 'Bringing Up Baby', 'Long Day's Journey Into Night' and 'The Lion in Winter' are Wendy Hiller, Anna Magnani and Mia Farrow).

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I thought her performances was the best thing in the movie.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMrW

The last Kate movie that I saw was Adam's Rib which for me is the best portrayal of the Hepburn/Tracy chemistry. Despite her best efforts, it's wonderful to see the always strong Kate be just so smitten with this love of her life.

My favorite Hepburn film is The Philadelphia Story and she totally deserved the Oscars for The Philadelphia Story, Summertime, Long Day's Journey Into Night, and The Lion in Winter.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDrew C

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I thought....the title Meryl's heir apparent just got a whole lot tighter. Nic you better watch your back.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDrew C

The last Kate movie that I saw was technically from title to credits Without Love which was good stuff, but if you count turning over to the last 30 minutes of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner on one tv channel, then the same week watching all but the start on another channel it's that.

My favorite Hepburn film is probably The Lion In Winter which I haven't watch since 2007 with my Nana before she passed. She had the choice of The Lion In Winter, On Golden Pond or The Silence Of The Lambs. I kind of thought she'd choose the old folks by the lake, but was glad she didn't. .The Philadelphia Story, Holiday and Desk Set are all very close behind. Three of the greatest romantic comedies in my view....and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for quite a few performances I'd imagine. It all depends on looking at the competition, but her last three wins that I've seen I liked all the performances. 67 had a lot more diverse and likely better performances, but I love when she sends that snooty biatch on her way and fires her. That car scene is oscar worthy.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I thought she was fantastic and gave me my favourite scenes. Actually the majority of scenes I recall from that film are hers. I wouldn't begrudge any of the nominees that year of a win. Madsen's glowing performance may be my fav, not sure.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterTim B.

The last Kate movie that I saw was The Corn is Green which I love and watch a couple of times every year .

My favorite Hepburn film is Holiday but Stage Door runs a close second and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for The Lion in Winter & Long Day's Journey Into Night, she was great in Suddenly, Last Summer but more in a distillation of her persona way than great acting.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I thought she was wonderfully enjoyable.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterjoel6

The last K. Hepburn movie I saw was Guess Who's Coming to Dinner which was playing without sound in the restaurant I had lunch in today, in honor of her birthday, no doubt. My favorite movie of hers is probably Pat and Mike which rivals any movie ever made for great screen chemistry between the two leads. She totally deserved the Oscar for Bringing Up Baby: one of the great comedic performances ever. When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator it made me wish Katherine Hepburn were still in her prime, making movies.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered Commentertimothy

The only movie I ever liked her in was The Lion in Winter.... only role she deserved Oscar for.

Morning Glory was not good ( even in its day)... for Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and On Golden Pond, she received Oscars because her co stars died!!!

Compared to Hepburn, Streep is even more gigantic as an actress... I know she said she did not like Streep's acting, but I believe she knew Streep was going to take her TITLE away from her!

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterrick

The last Kate movie that I saw was The Philadelphia Story (for the 1st time) which was amazing!

My favorite Hepburn film is The Lion in Winter & now Philadelphia Story and she totally deserved the Oscar for Lion in Winter.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I had never seen a Hepburn film at that point but I enjoyed Cate all the same.

My favorite Hepburn film is ____________ and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for _______________________.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I _____________________.

The last Kate movie that I saw was The Lion in The Winter, again, which one of the most brilliant-acted movies of all time and I just can't believe how perfect and convincing Peter O'Toole is playing a man 15 years his senior.

My favorite Hepburn film is Summertime and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for Summertime and The Lion in the Winter. She was Oscar worthy in a lot of years (Adam's Rib, The Philadelphia Story, etc) but I'd giver those two.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I thought it was very good performance, but I wish Virginia Madsen had won that Oscar and Blanchett gor recognition for one of her more off-beat projects.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered Commentercal roth

My favorite Hepburn movie would have to be The Philadelphia Story (followed by The Lion in Winter). Hepburn is not a favorite of mine. I liked her dramatic performances in The Lion in Winter, Long Day's Journey into Night and Suddenly Last Summer. She deserved her Oscar for Lion in Winter, but -IMO- not the other 3. Actually, I've looked at the lists of actresses that were up for the gold every year she was nominated, and I have concluded that I wouldn't have voted for her in any other year. (Mind you, I doubted a bit when it came to 1933. I saw all three performances -Hepburn, Robson and Wynyard- many years ago).
I liked Cate Blanchett's performance in The Aviator. I believe she captured the essence, the mannerisms, everything.
Bringing Up Baby is the last Hepburn film I have seen. I just love to see it and check out all the simiilarities with What's Up, Doc?

The last Kate movie that I saw was "Alice Adams," which was hysterical, especially the dinner scene with Hattie McDaniel.

My favorite Hepburn film is "Suddenly Last Summer," and she totally deserved the Oscar for "Morning Glory," but NONE ot the others.

1967 - Edith Evans
1968 - Joanne Woodward
1981 - Diane Keaton

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I was pleased with her performance.

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPatryk

The last Kate movie that I saw was Long Day's Journey Into Night which got destroyed before I could see the ending.

My favorite Hepburn film is The Lion in Winter and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for proving that such is the role of sex in (Oscar) history.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I went, "gah-LEE!".

May 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSanty.C

The last Kate movie that I saw was "Desk Set" which should be mandatory viewing for romantic comedy writers - it's totally formulaic and it's bliss.

My favorite Hepburn film is "Bringing Up Baby" on some days and "The Philadelphia Story" on others and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for both.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I died a little, then proclaimed a fatwa on the bitch.

May 13, 2012 | Unregistered Commentergoran

I think the last one I saw was Adam's Rib, which was cute but not her best.

Oh no, only one favorite? First off I don't mind any of her wins, but of her Oscars, The Lion in Winter was easily my favorite. Then there's Bringing Up Baby, Holiday (see it if you haven't), The Philadelphia Story... I can't remember her being bad in anything.

Blanchett was wonderful in that tricky role, and while she's done better, I'm glad she has an Oscar.

May 13, 2012 | Unregistered Commentereurocheese

when Cate Blanchet played Hepburn I puked!

May 13, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterstjeans

My favorite Hepburn film is more than one actually. I love "Stage Door", "Bringing Up Baby", "The Africa Queen", "Summertime" and almost everything she played against Tracy.

She totally deserved the Oscar(s) for "The Lion in Winter" and "On Golden Pond". She's great in "Morning Glory", but I haven't seen any of her competitors, so I can't really tell if it was well deserved. Not so happy with "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner". That year had stronger female characters.

When Cate Blanchett played her in "The Aviator" I was amazed for the first five minutes and then I got tired very quickly as I usually do with this new type of acting.

I'm happy to see so much love for Bringing Up Baby which is totally my favorite Hepburn.

and loving the Cate Blanchett sentences ;)

Today is the 105th anniversary of Katharine Hepburn's birth.

The last Kate movie that I saw was Woman of the Year which I wasn't impressed with.

My favorite Hepburn film is Bringing Up Baby and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for: Alice Adams, Bringing Up Baby, Long Day's Journey Into Night, The Lion in Winter. The last two are probably my favorite performances of hers.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I was left with the "WOW" effect, the same one I had when I discovered Streep and Kidman.

May 13, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterYavor

The last Kate movie that I saw was Alice Adams which rocked my socks off.

My favorite Hepburn film is Holiday and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for Alice Adams, Holiday and Long Day's Journey into Night.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I wanted to like her performance more than I did.

May 13, 2012 | Unregistered Commentermanny

The last Kate movie that I saw was The African Queen which the other Erik had never seen and we were doing an overnight boat trip this weekend and this is what he wanted to watch.

My favorite Hepburn film is either Stage Door or Bringing Up Baby and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for The Lion in Winter and On Golden Pond.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I laughed.

Bette Davis and Meryl Streep are the two actresses who are just better than the Great Kate.

Bette Davis is better than both.

Give us all a break and move on from you hostility for Streep. We get it already....

May 13, 2012 | Unregistered Commentermed

@med

I can't. The world continues to perpetuate her myth. Nathan, Nick, and other posters here complain about Hollywood's treatment of women while worshiping in the house of the chosen one. Therefore validating her as the chosen one. Hence all others suffer the fate of irrelevancy—stage work, television series regular. The chosen one walks freely. In fact she outright avoids on set conflict—see her not working with the most current, challenging auteur—because she wants three to four takes maximum. She has no time to agonize when the machine and the people say you're perfect. MS has ruined genuine human expressionism in acting for the sake of playing to an audience being easily deceived by gimmicks.

May 13, 2012 | Unregistered Commenter3rtful

@3rtful

Streep's body of excellent work speaks for itself. Your narrative, on the other hand, speaks buckets full of bullshit.

May 13, 2012 | Unregistered Commentermed

The last Kate movie that I saw (again) was The Philadelphia Story which I saw back to back with High Society: Grace Kelly cannot be compared to Kate by no means.

My favorite Hepburn film is Bringing Up Baby and she totally deserved the Oscar(s) for... I'd say the four stattuetes she won were deserved, but she should/could have also won for Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story and Adam's Rib.

When Cate Blanchett played Kate in The Aviator I enjoyed her scenes a lot. She was phenomenal.

The last Kate movie that I saw was SUMMERTIME which made me swoon. HARD. How could you not fall for Rossano Brazzi?

My favorite Hepburn film is either The Lion In Winter or Bringing Up Baby and she totally deserved the Oscar for both of them. Lion is actually the only time I think Oscar got it right for Kate, although I do like her in On Golden Pond. Her comedy in Baby is just SO perfect, that I can't believe she didn't win for it, let alone get nominated! Runner-ups to my favorite Hepburn films are: Adam's Rib, The Philadelphia Story, and The African Queen.

When Cate Blanchett played her in The Aviator I thought it was VERY interesting casting. And that is all I have to say about that.

May 14, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterdenny

I know it's late but the most recent Kate film I saw was The Lion in Winter and I thought it was very overrated. Kate was pretty good but the movie was a mess. Sorry, but someone has to say it.

My favorite Kate movie is The Philadelphia Story and she should have won the Oscar for it. She was also great and looked amazing in Stage Door, Woman of the Year, Bringing Up Baby, and Holiday. I don't mind that she won for Morning Glory as it was also the year of Little Women and I consider it for both performances. I really only think Kate was over-rewarded for Guess Who's Coming To Dinner.

When I saw Cate as Kate, I was pleasantly surprised. Not flat-out mimicry but a pretty good suggestion of what Kate was probably like when she was off camera.

Hepburn is nothing compared to streep she's just playing herself all over again she doesn't immersed herself in the role the way streep did she may have more oscars than streep but only due to sentimentality she didn't even deserve all four of those

May 15, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterlucy

I agree that meryl streep and bette davies are two of all time greatest actresses hepburn doesn't even comes close, her acting are mediocre at best she's just like the female george clooney playing the same roles all over again!
