Awkward!

By now you've already gawked at Zac Efron's naked body serving up a horizontal pee gag. The image has been shared relentlessly since the trailer of That Awkward Moment premiered a few days ago.

<-- Truth in Screencapping!

I wasn't going to say anything in the interest of timeliness but it turns out the power of ___ compels me.  But it's not about Zac Efron.  That awkward NSFW moment plus a reader poll (I apologize in advance!) is  after the jump.

That Awkward Position

Y'all have no idea how hard I wished they had released these photos of Zac and Miles Teller WITHOUT the context provided in the desperately redband trailer (so much cussing, so many dick jokes)  for That Awkward Moment which would have made an awkward "Yes No Maybe So" from the imbalances -- it's all "no" column.

But...

imagine how much fun we could have had with a "Say What?" installment. Also can we officially feel bad that Miles Teller does the same pose as Zac in the trailer and the internet only screen caps / viral shares Efron? Or that there isn't a matching third shot of Michael B Jordan for a full set? I mean he takes the Viagra too.

Do not hug me with no pants on."

Awkward Oscar Segueway
Although, come to think of it, a crude nude pee gag from Jordan might not be the best thing for his impending Fruitvale Best Actor campaign. You know we woulda photoshopped that right up ("Consider...").

That Awkward Moment opens January 31st, 2014, two weeks after the Oscar nominations are announced. If Jordan makes the list this movie is going to be such an awkward victory lap.

Oh Miles Teller. Always flip-flopping between poignant dramas that take young male problems seriously (Rabbit Hole, Spectacular Now) and douchey frat boy comedies (Project X, this). At least this film somewhat realises his cuteness for exploitation.

It's not that the movie looks BAD, but it seems like such a waste of talent to me.

This film looks so absolutely ridiculous that it might actually be kind of fun.

Teller's no matinee-idol. But he's the likeliest to have the enviable career out of the three.

Miles Teller is the second coming of Vince Vaughn that nobody prayed for.

What I like about Teller is that he completely does look like a regular person. People kept commenting on Woodley looking like a 'normal girl' in TSN but I found the fact the he nor the director were hiding his facial scars (some looked like cuts but some of it looked like the very pimple scars I have) kind of endeared me. But then his path as a frat-bro seems a little too easy for him to embody. I'm torn.

And since nobody brought it up, the trailer forgot about Michael B. Jordan's existence. Michael B. Jordan will probably be okay with that in 5 years.

Even though this kind of movie normally does not appeal to me, I actually found this trailer somewhat endearing. It helps that the 3 leads are all appealing in their own ways and the jokes seem to be at their expense, not by putting down women or gays or whatever (although I'm also not expecting the women to exactly be three-dimensional characters, either). Not saying I'll definitely see it in the theater, but I'd consider it.

I got an odd, witchy vibe from Imogen Poots in this trailer. For a minute I wondered if it was a trailer to a different movie. Am I the only one?

Maybe I've been watching too much American Horror Story...
