I get so tired of desperate, greedy publishers feeding off the corpses of great stars. There appears to be little point in this glorified tabloid than to pick apart a beautiful icon to sell a few books. Sad. Ava stated she didn't want it published, so her family's lack of conscience is nauseating. She moved to Europe to have some peace in her later years. I hope she found it. Stars may give away their right to privacy while they're alive. But they should at least get some afterward.
Diane Kruger DID nail it in "Farewell, My Queen"! Even after being great in "Inglorious Basterds," I wouldn't have predicted she had it in her.
Really? Look, the idea of a Batman/Superman film? It's a great one if you've got the characters right. It's like a massive budget buddy film, both very competent at what they do but with vastly different views of the world. Problem: If it's Nolan Batman (whether JGL (and it's probably going to wind being JGL) or Bale) and Nolan/Goyer/Snyder "Superman" there's not going to be any of the true fun of conflicting ideologies because they have the same tortured, angsty and cynical viewpoint.
From the Diane Kruger article, 'played brilliantly by Palme d'Or-winning French actress Lea Seydoux...' I will never grow tired of reading this.
"Love is Nothing" by Lee Server is an astounding biography of Ava Gardner; it reads just like a novel. I also really enjoyed "Grabtown Girl" by Doris Cannon, which basically chronicles Gardner's childhood in North Carolina and the many visits she would make home to visit family, with and without the men in her life. Fascinating stuff.
Eva Green needs to be cast in the biopic. Now.
I loved the Garfield interview! Especially the part when he aknowledges that any Spiderman movie would make millions without really trying.
