Three-way tie?

I am sorry, but that was the performance ever vs 4 great performances. They're not all the same league.

I had a problem concentrating but fro what I payed attention to, it was a good podcast, so thanks once again, guys!

The "cock..Hitchcock" tweet was by GayCinephile.
And I just saw that the top review at imdb has the same phrase in its title but the writer has Frances Farmer as his/her nick so I'm pretty sure it's GayCinephile again.

I'm glad you guys were able to discuss Stranger by the Lake. I loved it as well, particularly how it implicates the audience in their voyeurism. There's a lovely interplay between the humor of these guys checking each other out and the audience watching them closely as they go about their "business." With that, and all the scenes of helicopters, speedboats, and canoes passing by, there's seemingly a lot said about human curiosity.

Five-way tie, I mean

I enjoyed Stranger by the Lake, much more than Tom at the Farm. But I didn't think it was an amazing movie, just really good.

I haven't seen Gloria yet. But I will.

I love this short little podcast, and does it feel like Stranger is getting a lot of attention lately? I'm fine with it, but I was just curious. Nathaniel, I am glad you mentioned the Oscar doc being really disorganized. I was trying to figure out if they were presenting it by category or history or what. Confusion.

I loved Stranger by the Lake SO much - can't wait to listen to this after work.
I feel pretty grateful to be watching movies in a time where something like this not only gets a release, but generates enough interest that I can hear a discussion of it on my favorite podcast.

I can't believe no one congratulated Nick for his outstanding rendition of Sally Kirkland's loser face on Twitter. I demand future renditions of Turner and Burstyn in 73.

Demi and Madonna 'threating to make a buddy action film'... LMFAO

Ellen's Oscar should have been for 'The Exorcist'

And so thrilled to hear you guys ALL liked "Stranger By the Lake"

Just an FYI on that TCM Oscar 'doc'. Cher's Marving Hamlisch snafu is prominently featured, underlining her outsider status that grows into an Oscar winner.

The doc was definitely too scattered for my taste. Some people work like Whoopi, Cher, Burstyn, Hanks, but then guys like Clooney and Reitman (Weird to focus on Up in the Air being the zeitgeist-y film in The Hurt Locker year when a director's son lost to the first woman who finally got long-deserved recognition) just are so into themselves.

"I love this short little podcast, and does it feel like Stranger is getting a lot of attention lately? I'm fine with it, but I was just curious."

Well it's opening in theaters in America, finally, and its director is getting a retrospective at Film Society in New York. Not to mention, explicit, penetrative sex scenes will definitely get attention. It's a fantastic, tight, well-directed genre film though.

Speaking of actress reactions, not just Gena shock but Glenda Jackson's win is a pretty spectacular one. She like many 70s actresses, wasn't there and the win had Burstyn and another nominee fuming. Not Sally Kirkland level but volatile enough to register.

CMG -- is it? oh, good news for Joe. I admit i tuned in a bit late and was distracted by the WGA stuff...

I love it when Cher calls Meryl Streep "Mary Louise" in her acceptance speech. :-)

No way is that an endorsement for Cher winning an Oscar for that awful ass "Moonstruck." #JusticeforGlenn
