Hurricane Carter is endless. The only good thing about it is Denzel's performance. Sadly, that happens a lot to him.

Interesting on the Miike front. A few months ago, it was announced that he was doing a film adaptation of a manga that was never finished. It's called As God Says and it's brutally dark. High school students competing to be God, but only one in the entire world chosen for the game can survive.

Fascinating article on the Lindsay Lohan docuseries... I pray she gets the structure and stability in her life she so badly needs.... Hearing her talk about losing parts to her contemporaries is do sad because if she's losing parts at 27 just imagine when she's 40... The greats like Glenn close, Geena Davis and Sharon stone have trouble getting parts, its going to be impossible for her to.

Agree with Peggy Sue - Denzel is great in 'The Hurricane', but unfortunately it waters down a struggle of justice to treacly platitudes. Denzel is kinda like Tom Hanks for me - I think he's a great actor, seems like a great guy, and I understand why he's iconic, but I am rarely to never interested in the kind of movies he stars in.

Peggy Sue and Rebecca - So true. Denzel often gives great performances, but usually in movies I think are awful. THE HURRICANE is no exception.

That was a very very strong Best Actor line-up. I am happy Spacey won because he was superb. But he should have won his second Oscar the year before, supporting in LA Confidential. I think my gold medal would go to Penn and his fantastic against-type charming, delightful and sad performance in Sweet and Lowdown. I still this it's his best performance ever.

We all seem to agree about Mr. Washington here. He's actually one of my favorite actors, but his taste lacks when it comes to picking projects. I seem to recall that he was the only one who posed a genuine threat to Kevin Spacey's second Oscar victory.
