Lee Pace Plays Hard To Get For a Day

Remember when Lee Pace and Amy Adams played the romantic leads in Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008) ? Every once in a blue moon I flash back to that movie because Lee Pace is so dreamy and Amy sings so sweetly.

But things are rocky between them at first.

Amy: Kiss Me?

Lee: Not a chance."

In a previous article you said you hope Frances McDormand gets her career back on track. My question is what career? She's a character actress who takes supporting roles in movies except when her husband/brother-in-law cast her in a leading role. Can anyone name a theatrical release she led without their involvement? She's popular with awards bodies. And I think when you're never going to breakout as a movie star that's a big deal. She already has a Lead Oscar and Tony. And pretty soon a Lead Emmy for an HBO miniseries that'll air either at the end of the year or early next. She's fine. I bring her up because you brought up this movie.

Is Lee Pace ever going to come out? I've never seen this film but he is very dreamy in Pushing Daisies. And since I brought up Bryan Fuller myself, i'm still angry about Hannibal being completely snubbed by the Emmys.

One of those movies I was convinced I would love, but didn't. Shirley Henderson was fantastic as usual.

Yeah I want to see more Laura Linney, Laura Dern, etc.
But I also want Amy Adams on every movie.

Lee Pace needs to grow back that amazing moustache he had on Broadway and find a meaty role in a movie with a lot of sex. Just like William Hurt did in Body Heat.

I'm a little bleary this morning, but this a Laura Dern-Laura Linney-Amy Adams movie idea is dynamite.
But I mostly came in to say that is some good face Amy's giving in the last frame.

I loved Lee and Amy's duet in Miss Pettigrew. If only there were more movies with Lee and Amy together (especially singing).

I can't understand when someone as great as Lee comes along, why he isn't deluged with roles.

I amused myself when watching Trouble With the Curve by replacing that shallow little twerp Justin Timberlake with Lee Pace. Then you would have had a movie worth watching.

This is a great movie for a sick day.

Saw this for just a second a couple of months ago and I still love it as when I saw it when it came out in theaters. And my friends were actually JUST talking about this film yesterday, so timely post!

@ Mark: Marissa Tomei! (but I do love Adams :)

I love this movie. So sweet, and not in a sickening way. Just a light enjoyable movie that so easily picks me up when I'm feeling down. And Amy and Lee are perfection together in it. Their duet is so beautiful I want them to do a stage show together like Mandy Patinkin and Patti LuPone.

Speaking of McDormand she may have not been doing as many movies but she has been trying to fill out her EGOT and she got the tony three years ago and will be in the HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge being done by Lisa Cholodenko. I love Pace and Adams together and both have good work since and Pace I loved so much on Pushing Daisies and in The Normal Heart revival. Adams it goes without seeing what she has been great in. You can watch this film and even believe Pace as a lover even if gay because take for example Ben Whishaw is now out I love so much in Bright Star and believe in him as straight so it should not be that difficult.

"Lee Pace is so dreamy".
yep.

Amy Adam is perfection.

This is my favorite Adams performance. She works so well with everyone in this from Pace to Strong and especially Henderson and McDormand.
