Required Viewing: Julianne Moore Acts for Tips in Times Square

I was hoping to hear a little Boogie Nights! But this will more than do. Billy Eichner is a national treasure. Or at least a regional treasure. Does he go over well in the southwest?

P.S. Mark Harris made a funny about this video on twitter.

ALL Oscar campaigns are basically this brilliant @billyeichner segment w/ Julianne Moore acting for tips in Times Sq.

It's funny because it's truthy.

Yay! I was *just* about to email this to you. I hope pt. 2 features "Safe"!

This is beautiful because of her and hilarious because of him. Amazing.

'I got a Golden Globe nomination' .... 'That doesn't count'

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterRami

Doing that "Magnolia" monologue in Times Square to unsuspecting tourists is such a testament to the fearless goddess she is.

Also, *hair flip* hey Billy.

December 1, 2015 | Registered CommenterChris Feil

Can Billy Eichner host the Golden Globes??? He'd be a hoot!

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterDAVID

"Famous woman?!" LOL!!

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered Commentercris

This is everything I've ever wanted! I wish I was there when she was doing her Magnolia monologue. The faces of the onlookers was priceless.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterChris James

I would have requested that exact scene from Magnolia because it is maximum Acting.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterRaul

Julianne Moore crying on cue for a baffled Times Square tourist may be the greatest thing I've ever seen.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterRoark

Julianne Moore has more nominations in her future plus an additional win (either category).

"Listen to that gay!"

I LOVE this so much.

December 1, 2015 | Registered CommenterManuel Betancourt

This would be a dream come true. I would DEMAND a scene from The Hours, specifically, a reading of this line, "Oh, I'm gonna bake a cake. That's what I'm gonna do." It has found its way into the lexicon of me and my friends, and has become synonymous with a special kind of sadness. A funny kind of sadness.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterVal

Listen to that gay is an instant classic line

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered Commentercal roth

Oh, I saw it earlier! It's absolutely marvelous! I love the lady that's behind her when she does Magnolia. It's surreal!

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPeggy Sue

oh god i LOVE that the gay guy brings up her oscar record immediately. to good to be true.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterCharles O

The "Listen to that gay!" made me cackle. God Billy is just so good at using celebrities in a funny inventive way, unlike all the late night talk show hosts.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJoFo

I love how he says "something understated" and then she does this BIG acting from Kids are All Right

December 1, 2015 | Registered CommenterNATHANIEL R

I can tell you that he is definitely beloved in the Midwest!

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAlexa

I guess I'm not the only one who thinks this should be turned into a wholes series with ALL our goddesses.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPeggy Sue

I loved that someone asked for something from "The Big Lebowski" - but they weren't grateful enough afterward.
She is God.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterLadyEdith

I love Billy Eicher's show, but if it's shown me anything it's that some of these "famous" actors aren't as famous as we thought. The random people on this show who have no clue who's standing before them are especially curious to me. Makes me wonder what their lives entail if they don't know who Julianne Moore or Chris Pratt are. Do they not go to the movies? What is that life like?

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBVR

BVR -- it's better not to stare into that dismal empty abyss.

December 1, 2015 | Registered CommenterNATHANIEL R

I thought about that too, the fact that people don't recognize these famous people, or goddesses in Julianne's case. But then I think it's probably funnier when they show the people that have no idea who they are.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterpaco.

BVR & Paco -- i think this is probably just a reflection of our post internet fragmented society. people can easily shut out anything they're not interested in immediately so everyone has different celebrities. weird.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNathaniel R

As to fame - Maggie Smith on Graham Norton said that she had never been famous until after Downton Abbey. Not even Harry Potter reached as many as TV.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterLadyEdith

Haha! I just watched this clip and thought 'I wonder if Nathaniel knows about this'. She is so wonderful, acting-wise and person-wise.

December 1, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterRebecca

FUCK SPIDERMAN!
That last scene is a perfect example of how the world reacts when Julianne won her Oscar.
This is Everything.

December 2, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterCraver

A+++

She will always continue to be everything.

Actressexual Billy is clearly speaking to us, ya'll!

December 2, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMark The First

That was brilliant and hilarious. I want more!

December 2, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterSof

Julianne needs to come back for part deux! We need to hear the "something very intellectual" scene from savage grace on cue.Love her!
