It's such a movie trope but does it happen this way in real life. I've woken up like "noooo!" from an upsetting dream but generally more mumbled lethargically than the bolt upright wail. You?

Well, I'd argue that the Zoolander one that ends it is a rare "wake-gasp that starts Act 3", but he is right that it's usually early.
A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night is one of the last films I'm dying to see from 2014, so I'm all for making it a part of HMWYBS!
Also, that video...LOL!
And, yes, I've woken up like that. My wife does it ALL THE TIME and it's so annoying. I'm talking like 3AM, slapping me on the back, screaming, waking up the kids and then rolling over and SNORING. Like, WTF! Thanks for that.
Andrew. That sounds terrible, but LOL.
Mr. Sondheim should be focusing on banning Rob Marshall from the rest of his material.
P.S. Sarah Miles' bush is everything!
I have been hoping somebody would do one of those super-cuts for AGES -- I've always wanted it for one of my "Good Morning, World" posts but being too lazy to make such a thing myself and knew if you give the internet time, anything will happen. Hooray, laziness wins!
According to Playbill, Sondheim has stated that his next show to receive a film adaptation might be SUNDAY:

(And we thought INTO THE WOODS was a tricky...)
Charles O: I don't know how you'd want to do that as a live-action piece. Hopefully that "famous producer" he's talking about is John Lasseter for a Disney or Pixar animated film.
I actually had back-to-back sleep paralysis episodes last night ;/ It was awful. And now I'm really tired and have a headache because of it. I'm preparing to move across the country (I'm from Fl) to LA in a few weeks, so I've been really stressed. I'm gonna assume that's why.
Sondheim needs a new hearing aid.

After Away We Were, Take This Waltz and Stories We Tell, I'll follow Polley anywhere. All those films are different and I certainly like them to differing degrees, but they all feel very specific. They don't feel like anyone could have made them. She reminds me of Cary Fukunaga in that way and I'm excited to see what she does with this new adaptation.
Great group of links.
Debbie Harry would have been a treat as Pris.
I wonder how much Stephen King was paid to watch the film and for his kind words?
The Tab Hunter doc sounds great.
Sondheim is not doing himself any favors lately. Someone who cares should edit his press.
If Disney can prove that money makers that aren't CGI based can be launched in March, why shouldn't they?
We don't need a remake of Little Women.
Deep Dish--What a great site. Sam Elliot was the hottest thing and I had forgotten about "The man who fell from Grace with the Sea" which was the Fifty Shades of the day.
I support anything dealing with A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, if only so you're forced to watch the amazing cat-ctor that stars in the movie, Nathaniel. A meowst-see.
That video is the funniest thing ever. I agree - I don't think I've EVER done that. Propping right up after a dream?? I can't watch it without crying laughing. Thanks for sharing!
That dream supercut made my day. Even the legendary Fred Astaire was forced to make that little cliched dance!
Oh my God, so much vote for A Girl Walks Home for HMWYBS.
