The song in CHI-RAQ is “Oh Girl" by The Chi-Lites.
Three words: "The Final Derriere."
"Oh Girl" -- very important tool in the mating rituals of early to mid '70s America.
The bar song in A Pigeon...is when I fell in love with the film. Probably my favorite scene in any film last year. It's just so perfect at what it sets out to do. I'm only a little surprised that you didn't include the dance class scene from earlier in the film under the honorable mentions. So perfectly awkward.
*goes and listens to L5Y on a loop for four days, thank you Nathaniel*
But GOD YES on the piano scene in VICTORIA. I was pretty chilly on the film and even the one-take approach, but that unbroken moment was a doozy.
No love for Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You from The Last Five Years? That entire sequence hurt my feelings. Young love meets reality check.
I almost didn't watch it because I ended up with an immense distaste for Jeremy Jordan after his god-awful character in Smash even though he's quite cute and has a lovely voice.
