Must Watch Video
Uma Thurman on the recent Hollywood flood of sexual harassment stories.

If she can channel this rage (it's so audible despite her careful reflective words) into a performance, she'll be Oscar worthy again. Have always loved her. Hoping for another classic role soon to go with Mia Wallace, The Bride, Mrs H, Cecile de Volanges, and June Miller.

The Lord of the Rings show should just be the extended edition of the original trilogy on Bluray watched in forty minute increments.

I didn't understand the "I am not a child" reference but she looked real p'd off,I don''t know whether it was the out of the blue question or genuine anger at the allegations,Love Uma too,

I hope Regina Hall can at least get a Globe nomination out of Girls Trip.

I wish Lars von Trier was...you know, a better person or more accessible. Uma (for Nympho) and Kirsten Dunst for Melancholia deserved Oscar attention. They still only have 1 nom between the two of them!

Having only seen Dacre Montgomery in Stranger Things, I find him to be a smarmier Zac Efron. Maybe he's just that good an actor. I'll withhold judgment until I see him in a different role.

that thurman video is chilling. i don't know to what she refers, but i hope that she's alright.

Tbh I find it somewhat distasteful that your comment regarding Thurman's anger regarding sexual assualt is more focused how she can use this for a performance for our enjoyment.

I have to agree with Steve.

I have not seen "Girls Trip". However, let's clear up the two major differences between Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy.

1) As was pointed out in the article, "Bridesmaids" got other pushes. It got a screenplay Oscar nomination, and was likely close to Best Picture since it also got Globes, PGA, WGA, and SAG Cast mentions. Is "Girls Trip" seriously that close to getting any other nominations?
2) As was not pointed out in the article (or maybe I missed it), the McCarthy campaign reached full swing when she won the Emmy. Haddish has not.

Tiffany Haddish. Yes yes yes yes yes x infinity x infinity.

Interesting how Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins worked together for just a couple of days in Silence of the Lambs. In some of their scenes they weren't even together!

Steve & Andrew -- it was meant with love and support for Uma as a longtime fan. Want her to have a glorious career resurgence. But i see what you're saying. I always think it goes without saying that we feel for people who are hurting but i guess it doesn't. I'll be more careful next time.

1857 and the Rani of Jhansi deserve good movies. Bollywood has covered this terrain extensively before. The trailer for Victoria and Abdul did not inspire enough confidence in me to buy a ticket and I dread another interesting and complex story being given similar treatment. Sigh.

Nathaniel: I'm with you on the end credits of Call Me By Your Name. When I saw it in the cinema, some people got up to leave - but what really annoyed me was that the lights came on fully in the auditorium as son as the first end credit appeared. I complained to the manager afterwards, and I can only hope they changed the timing of the lights for the future screenings. The final moments of that film are so fantastic, nothing must break the spell. (Although, even with what I described above, I still came away happy for how great the ending is.)

Uma gave a very classy intelligent response-( and she has cute ears)- oh pleas no enough with "The Lord of the Rings" impressive yes but it was film that never seemed to end just like "The Hobbitt" was movie that never seemed to start. I'm sure someone will do a series set in the Tolkien universe

If Haddish can win New York or LA watch out!

November 7, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterMichael R

Girls Trip was crude and unfunny. The Academy need not lower its standards that much to reward comedy or comedic actors.

November 7, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBD

Bridesmaids also earned more than twice as much at the box office as Girls Trip. It was one of 2011's major financial success stories. That type of success can push a well-reviewed movie to Oscar nominations.

Hey Nathaniel! I know it wasn't an ill-conceived thought. I really appreciate you following up and the apology. Thanks for the words.

"Having only seen Dacre Montgomery in Stranger Things, I find him to be a smarmier Zac Efron. Maybe he's just that good an actor."

I saw a brief interview with him somewhere and he didn't come across as smarmy as himself. His character is supposed to be a vile jerk and I think he played that well.
