I have a feeling that Streep filed for a trademark so that her heirs can make decisions regarding future use of her likeness, etc. The rights to use a famous name or likeness end up being very lucrative for posterity (Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, etc.). Or, some crazy group was using her name to raise money and her lawyers told her that it's easier to get a cease and desist if her name is trademarked.
PS, this is nice in that Streep interview:

I'm surprised you didn't have a link to Indiewire or the Oregonian's original article by a journalist who covered the Harding/Kerrigan affair. She's totally offended by the film, and points out major lies in the film, and points out what a pathological liar and sociopath Tonya Harding was and still is. She is really disgusted at how far the movie's revisionist agenda goes to minimize both Tonya Harding's and Jeff Gillooly's participation in the crime, and maximize the role of someone who is conveniently dead.
Why eat bugs Nicole, why?
Considering that Empire Strikes Back made only 2/3 of its predecessor’s box office in 1980, I think Star Wars will be fine. It’s impossible to follow up a phenomenon, box office-wise.
If 20th Century Women and Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool were released in the same year, 2016 or 2017. Annette Bening would have won so many awards. Life and show business are never fair indeed.
ken s -- i didn't see that article but now i will look for it. I often miss things online because the large sites (like indiewire) post dozens of times a day and it's really easy to miss stuff.
Sorry I didn't have the author, but she's J E Vader, and Indiewire ran her story on 1/28. I googled J E Vader Oregonian and found the original. It confirmed a lot of my suspicions, suspicions which all the fine acting couldn't distract me from.
Wait a minute, A Million Little Pieces? Wasn't that a supposedly autobiographical memoir that was exposed as almost entirely fabricated? Why are they making a movie out of it?

Love Bernadette Peters but those numbers will drop. She's not selling out shows way in advance which is typically an indicator that an actor does not have the strength to carry a show. They'll probably need to stunt cast it again if they want to keep Hello Dolly going through 2019.
Empire Strikes Back AND Attack of the Clones both did the same sort of ratio of box office to the first ones in their trilogies.
