Happy 25th Anniversary to David & Michelle
One of Hollywood's greatest couples was married twenty-five years ago today, less than a year after they started dating. Shockingly for someone as private as La Pfeiffer, she took him to the Golden Globes (pictured above) less than two weeks after meeting him on a blind date!
1993 was a very big year for both of them: Pfeiffer began the year attending all the awards shows, nominated for Love Field (1992) and in the fall she was promoting The Age of Innocence (1993); After the awards show for Pfeiffer in the winter, they were attending the Emmys in the fall since Kelley was up for Outstanding Drama Series for his new show Picket Fences, an instant critical darling.
Here's a strange bonus trivia note for you. Lots of people have enjoyed the odd coincidence that Daniel Day Lewis and Michelle Pfeiffer, famously grand co-stars on The Age of Innocence, share a birthday. But they also share the same anniversary! Daniel Day-Lewis married his wife Rebecca Miller three years to the day after Pfeiffer's wedding. Both couples are still together.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

She has amazing cheekbones and he's got a great chin. Their kids must be really pretty!
Waiting nervously for a new project announcement for her. I hope it's not another popcorn flick. I want another indie drama!
I blame him for her taste in Lifetime Drama movies.
A gorgeous couple. Picket Fences is one of the great TV dramas. Simply brilliant.
Luckiest man alive.
Was Michelle Pfeiffer a saintly ogre in her previous life to be granted such beauty in this life?
I'm not a huge David E. Kelley fan (although his Big Little Lies adaptation *was* superb), but you can't really blame him for his wife's pedestrian tastes and inclination toward Lifetime-esque material. Michelle Pfeiffer traditionally has hewed to safe vs. risky—remember her turning down Silence of the Lambs because of its subject matter? And then opting to do Love Field instead? She is no Nicole Kidman in that respect, and yet is very often the best thing about her movies. Maleficent 2 (and Avengers 4) is the only one in post-production; sadly, no mother! on her slate.
SoSue -- i dont know but it's absolutely unreal that she is still this ravishing at 60 years old.
I am sure she gets help to maintain her looks but she's blessed with beauty to start which helps but I firmly believe in her heydey 88 - 00 she was the most beautiful actress ever to grace the screen.
I know people inc our host would love Michelle to have an Oscar but a small indie probably won't do it but she's back working and it's just a matter of project and timing.
Reminder 2017 Supporting Actress should have included Michelle Pfieffer for the overdue win.
Mareko: You are correct, she usually plays it safe, but Where is Kyra? and mother! have given me hope that she will now be more daring, if the opportunities and offers are there for her.
Pfeiffer at the Emmys was Kidman at the CMT Awards, before it was cool.
So. Much. Pretty!!!

I am not sure that Love Field was 'safe' -- the subject matter involving an interracial relationship and kissing an AA actor was hardly that 'safe'.
I don't think it's safe vs risky -- if anything, she has avoided doing some very commercial stuff -- she just seems to be slightly self-indulgent in picking roles and really still seems to be nervous about acting or doing the interviewing rounds. She could certainly get a TV series with her husband.
Nicole and now Julia Roberts seem to have done the TV/streaming thing, but Michelle hasn't done it. A shame, because I think she's a significantly better actress, much better singer and orders of magnitude more beautiful than Roberts (and by all accounts, significantly nicer than 'America's sweetheart').
