One Season at a Time
Spread the good news, Netflix has renewed "One Day at a Time" for a third season! They made it official with this clever promo spot using one of Season 2's best jokes.
If you haven't been watching, you really should tune in and catch up. It can be a bit of an adjustment if you resist the traditional sitcom format (as I do) but it's worth the mental switch. The writing is incredibly strong (so many good jokes in every episode) and the characters are across the board endearing. If there's any justice in the world the legendary Rita Moreno will snag the Emmy nomination she was mysteriously denied last season for her even better work in season 2.

Hallelooo! Talk about good news - I swear to god Rita Moreno being ignored (even by SAG who have such a thing for old ladies - they nominated Betty White for Hot in Cleveland how many times for goodness' sakes!) by everyone last season is something I'll never fathom. Give her, Justina Machado and the show all the awards - now please.
Justina Machado deserves a nomination too. Highly charismatic, funny and really nails the more dramatic elements of the character.
This is great news. I certainly can't understand why it didn't happen months ago. And agreed on Justina Machado. She is terrific, and it is time for some fresh faces in her category.
I disagree. If there's any justice Moreno will snatch the Emmy win.
This show is simply amazing. I try to avoid pushing shows on people in this era of 500 scripted shows. This is one I push. Everyone should be watching this show.
Yay! Totally agree it takes some time getting used to if you're not used to it, but it's so worth the effort. Machado and Moreno are fantastic and have been sadly overlooked.
I’d echo the praise for Justina Machado... even tho she seems much more adept at the dramatic elements of the show than the comedy. And jfc who decided to give Todd Grinnell a beard and glasses and not send him to my front door with an engagement ring? Seems cruel.
