Since we haven't done a link roundup in too long, here are way too many of them for your clicking pleasure and general infotainment.
Screens
• Cartoon Brew Freshly Oscared Guillermo del Toro is taking active role in Dreamworks Animation going forward
• Vulture "I ate like Olivia Pope for a week, and didn't die" - a hilarious journal/tribute to Scandal in its last season
• NYT a profile of Rachel Weisz. It opens with beauty tips, pregnancy, and lesbian sex and I shuddered thinking we were going to get a deluge of thinkpieces about editors assigning sexist men to write about actresses but we are saved from the thinkpieces because it turns out it's a Maureen O'Dowd article
• Playbill Amazon is launching a new short form series After Forever about a 50something gay couple tomorrow. Lots of theater folks are in it
More after the jump including Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet van Dyne, Isle of Dogs charity mission, Drag Race revelations, auctions of the unwanted (Ghost in the Shell and Weinstein Co), and lots of Avengers and Westworld...
• AV News apparently Michelle Pfeiffer is going to make an appearance in one of the Avengers movies after Ant-Man and the Wasp (!!!). We also learned this week that the plot of the latter is actually about the search for LaPfeiffer so we suspect we'll relate.
• Variety Marvel and the Russo Bros are trying their best to convince fans and critics not to spoil Infinity War for everyone before opening weekend. (I'm seeing it tonight and I don't do spoilers so you're safe with me)
• i09 Marvel's TV universe no longer tries to stay connected to its movies... or to the other shows
• Guardian a tetchy interview with French genius filmmaker Claire Denis
• Deadline 60 potential bidders for the library of the Weinstein Co as the bankrupt company goes to auction. Let's hope someone buys because there's no reason to lose all those films due to rights issues!
• Props A bunch of props from the ill fated Ghost in the Shell movie are also going to auction
• Film School Rejects recommends 15 underseen Canadian films. Remarkably I have seen none of them but it feels very anti-Canadian to not include any David Cronenberg in this list!
Drag
• NewNowNext Tom Holland doesn't know what Drag Race is (so you can all stop dreaming about he and his Instagram bestie being actual secret boyfriends)
• Drag Star Diva interviews artist Chad Sell about his Drag Race illustrations and his new all ages book "The Cardboard Kingdom"
• Decider the case for never bringing Miss Vanjie back to RuPaul's Drag Race
Bonus Video
This sponsored video for HBO's Westworld is amusing/delightful.
More Westworld
• DeviantArt a beautiful painting of Evan Rachel Wood's "Dolores" from Westworld
• AV Club why they made changes to Westworld's hypnotic opening credits
Miscellania
• Crowdrise Isle of Dogs is attempting to save dogs from kill shelters. You can donate for a good cause AND get an entry to win a set of Isle of Dog figures (only 100 sets were made and will not be sold) if you enter by April 30th
• New Yorker fascinating investigation into Japan's "rental family" market
• Pulitzer the 2018 recipients were revealed last week. Kendrick Lamar has gotten the bulk of press attention as the first non classical /non jazz musician to ever win but there's a lot of interesting less discussed stuff here as well
• AV News this is so random but apparently the ancient comic strip "Nancy" has a new writer and internet commenters are up in arms. I read a few weeks of strips after this article. It's such a weird fusion of old timey character and modern jokes.

I strongly recommend Isabella Rossellini's interview in Vulture.
Trailer for Crazy Rich Asians! MIchelle Yeoh! In my dreams this is an Oscar turn for her, a la Meryl in DWP, but it looks like probably not, but I can dream whatever I want.

I love Weisz. Love her. LOVE.
Hate to break your plate (if you weren’t being ironic), but Maureen Dowd *is* a sexist dude—she just happens to be a woman. Remember her Pulitzer Prize (!!!)-winning “work” for the Times that infamously slut-shamed Monica Lewinsky as a “ditsy, predatory White House intern,” a crazy bimbo? Dowd is no good, and we shouldn’t be surprised by the tenor of her Weisz interview.
Mareko -- i was being partially ironic... but i AM glad we won't get a deluge of thinkpieces about that because i'm so exhausted by outrage.
oh no, i was thinking that about tom holland and his Instagram bestie!
Tom Holland doesn't give that Lip Sync Battle performance without knowing of RuPaul's Drag Race. Definitely trying too hard to seem macho in this scenario.
Lana, he's protecting his career and millions to come. But I agree that nobody will think he is gay if he declares he only have heard about a popular drag queen show.
Oh, there almost definitely will be thinkpieces about the Weisz article. A lot of feminists don't like Dowd (not O'Dowd). There might not be as many as if it was a man, but they probably will happen.
“Don’t you have some secret to share with the readers of The New York Times - you, Oscar winner Rachel Weisz, one of our most gifted, haunting, magnetic (and undervalued) actresses of our era - ....like an avocado face mask or acupuncture?”
WHAT THE FISH IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?! - you, Maureen Dowd, alleged female Pulitzer winner -
that list of Canadian films is pretty tragic and bro-tastic. There are plenty of good Canadian films (mostly from Quebec) that deserved bigger audiences.
