I know it's the wrong song but dammit, "Night of the Living Baseheads" is da bomb!
I remember this dance very well which marked the first time I've heard of Rosie Perez (and Spike Lee for that matter). Do the Right Thing stayed with me for years and years because of the power of this unforgettable opening dance. I don't think I paid attention to the opening credits -- my eyes were glued to Perez's pugilistic dancing.
God bless Rosie Perez, one of my very favorite Academy Award-nominated actresses.
We must all channel Rosie in Do the Right Thing from time to time.
