It's their 21st movie!

by Nathaniel R

(yes we'll get to the DGA awards in a minute. until then...)

Both Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk) and Adam Driver (BlacKkKlansman) are nominated this year for their 21st feature film roles. So let's play a game.

With 21 days until the Oscars, we selected 21 screencaps  of 21 very randomly selected favourite actors of TFE from their 21st films. Guess what the movie is in the comments (please only 1 movie guess per comment to give multiple readers a chance to guess.). They won't all be as easy as #1 after the jump...

21 - Bette Davis and Margaret Lindsay in FOG OVER FRISCO (1934). This movie gets a little better if you are a great great fan of Davis. In her times as Warner Brothers Queen Bette had to fight for good scripts and roles and this movie is there as a proof.

4. Meryl in The River Wild

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterBruno

I'll have Birdman of Alcatraz for Thelma Ritter, please.

(Also, seeing how Brown Cow Stunning ignores the one guess per comment rule certainly doesn't give me that ooh ah ah sensation.)

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterMrW

Wtf, somebody showed up to defend I Am Sam!

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered Commentercal roth

JULIE ANDREWS IN......THE PRINCESS DIARIES?

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterNB-BCCT

NB-BCCT - Couldn't place which Julie Andrews movie. I was thinking 10 since I would have thought Julie Andrews would have past 21 movies by 2001.

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterReady

NB -- nope but right time period

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterNATHANIEL R

6. The Princess Diaries II (I was going to say The Princess Diaries, but you already said that's wrong.)

One reason Natalie Wood got to twenty one films so quickly is because she started so early (in "Miracle on 34th St.", I think.)

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterCarl

4 - Ziegfeld Follies, 1945, is one of my favorites - being an old musicals lover. Every movie director should watch it to learn how to make a movie of the genre. Because the movie is exactly about that. A pretext for MGM to put its star cast in several numbers; the one with Judy Garland "A Great Lady Has an Interview" is a lot of fun and she's never been so beautiful. Fanny Brice, the original Funny Girl, one of Ziegfeld's stars, is in the cast.

Doh! Just saw someone got in first.

What a fun, if rather oddly structured and paced, film.

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterAdam Lewis

Is Denzel's the one with the serial killer? I can't remember the name of it.

February 3, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterCash

February 3, 2019 | Registered CommenterNATHANIEL R
