De Palma's Domino Falls Shortly

Last year marked the 50th anniversary of director Brian De Palma making feature-length films -- I've never seen 1968's Murder à la Mod, which was thought lost until it popped up as an extra on Criterion's Blow Out disc in 2011 (can we all just agree that Criterion is nuts, you guys), but I think it's safe to guess that there's something worth seeing in it because even at his worse (and he's had plenty of those moments) Brian De Palma always gives us something to stare at...
Which is why the drama and trouble surrounding his latest film has been so disheartening -- the minute I heard Brian De Palma was making a crime-thriller called Domino starring Game of Thrones respective Dutch & Danish sexpots Carice Van Houten and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau I immediately packed myself an overnight bag and moved into the nearest movie-house to wait for it.
And then De Palma got enthusiastically dicked around by the producers, who didn't pay anybody and took the film away from him. What a damn shame! De Palma's on the record that he disowns the film, but it's hitting some theaters and VOD on May 31st all the same (no doubt to capitalize on GoT mania) and now we've got a trailer. You can see him all over the thing! Perhaps something special will make its way through all the bullshit? Fingers crossed for this one...

It looks like a generic thriller that doesn't feel like a de Palma film. BOO!!!!
