8:18 Okay, now I am showered, coffeed, fully dressed, if not quite mentally prepared for What Lies Ahead. The great unknown. Or maybe the known if they just follow the precursors this year. I'm suddenly feeling Sam Rockwell (?) and wishing i hadn't predicted a Kunis snub.
8:28 I don't think i've ever watched The Early Show but they only had it in them (the anchors) for crossing their fingers for The Social Network and The King's Speech. What imaginative calls! Clearly the female anchor doesn't go to the movies she made a convenient "i'm still watching. i can't say" comment which means I officially shun her. That'll show her.

8:33 Ugh. I hate Ben Lyons so much. Switched to E! and he's talking about the Academy "FINALLY getting younger." Maybe he doesn't know that the age statistics remain about the same all the time with the acting nominations. They like the women young, the men middle aged. That's always the way it's been and they way it'll stay. As we've discussed many a time. The only way this year is "younger" is the hosts and IF eisenberg, franco and gosling are all nominated in lead actor. That would definitely be a young Best Actor lineup even with Firth & Bridges involved.

I will allow the Best Picture category to consist of all the Golden Globe Comedy/Musical category as half of the field just for a Jacki Weaver nomination. Also technically we're 6 minutes into Australia Day down here, so it is only fitting AMPAs please.

I'd like some Blue Valentine love but I fear a shut out. A Dogtooth foreign film nomination would also be crazily great.
I would prefer a Hershey nomination but perhaps a double dip is on the cards - Hershey and Kunis or will they cancel each other out?
Due to the category confusion, I can't see Manville making it.
I wouldn't be too bothered if Kidman missed out for Rabbit Hole - typically strong performance but no Dogville/Birth/Margot...then again, due to these previous misses, she is easily deserving of a 3rd nomination. As long as Swank doesn't make the cut!

Additionally, a Julianne Moore nomination would be lovely - it's about time Oscar recognised two great leading performances in the same category again.

I'm hoping for lots of surprises -- as long as eisenberg, kidman dont end up as surprise snubs.

I would pick Hershey over Kunis. Hershey left great impact on the movie, she made who nina was.
Had a very Ghost Writer-esque dream last night. Not sure what it was about, but the visuals were all deserted streets and off-season beaches. Probably not a sign, but willing to interpret it as such retroactively.
I have this sinking feeling Swank might get a 'surprise' nod. I hope I am wrong
