The Wrap this news makes me giggle. Lifetime Television is planning to remake 1980's The Blue Lagoon. This is what's called a missing the point. The only reason anyone watched the original film was for the nudity.

I'm a wee bit ashamed to admit it on this blog, but I love Love Actually. As in, it's one of my favorite movies of all time. I'll watch it any day.
I think one of the things I appreciate most about it, and something that other films with these interwoven storylines could learn from it, is that while all the characters have ties to each other, the film doesn't use that interrelatedness to push the story along or push its morals onto the audience. Unlike in some movies (*cough* Crash *cough*), you can't really predict who is going to appear in another character's arc. As a result, your reaction ends up being "oh, interesting" rather than "oh, duh" or "oh, gross."
Wow I just revisited the late Satoshi Kon's classic animation "Millennium Actress" today, and it really is the perfect film about "living vicariously through a character who’s living vicariously"! If they ever turn it into a live-action film, it would be the ultimate actressexual experience.
I just watched Love, Actually this afternoon and I still love it! That list is hilarious, though I am slightly ashamed that I never noticed the "three subplots in which a man falls in love with his female subordinate" thing. That's a little gross... But the movie is so much fun!
talking about Tom Hooper's adaptation of Les Misérables there's a rumour about the casting of Éponine: Léa Michele (hmmm), Scarlett Johansson (ahm?), Taylor Swift (Jesus!) and Evan Rachel Wood (well...) were in consideration for the role. Who would you cast?
I would suggest Carey Mulligan once she sings so well and acts even better, but I would be interested in seeing Mia Wasikowska or ScarJo in this project...
I found myself totally in retrospective mode post-Young-Adult-viewing. I felt so much for her and felt that, in many ways, I'm a lot like her.
...which I guess makes me a bitch.

This really isn't the appropriate place for this, but I re-watched The Help yesterday and wanted to ask you a question Nat - did you notice that from the theatrical version they cut out the entire scene where Skeeter and her family go to dinner at the senators house? I've never seen something like that before.. deleting scenes between theatre and DVD. I think it may have helped the movie though? Even though it's still LONG. Also, Viola and Jessicas performances got better on the second viewing. Especially Viola.
Love Actually hate is so bleh. I watch it every year and my heart grows three sizes bigger every time.
Wow that re-edited version of Pulp Fiction totally blew me away.

I want to be everything that Susan Sarandon is while looking like Jessica Lange circa The Always Postman Rings Twice. Other times I'm simply the Dil character from The Crying Game soaking about continous rejecting for real life Stephen Rea(s).
