That child deserves an Honorary Oscar for that video. His Kim Hunter was my favorite.

Nathaniel, I've been waiting for you to post that Supporting Actress vid! I knew you would find it and post it sooner or later. :-)

And Jeremy Renner- tsk tsk.

I LOVE THAT VIDEO! Favourites: Kim Hunter, Rita Moreno, Estelle Parsons, Tatum O'Neal, Whoopi, Jennifer Hudson, Monique. I wanna watch all these movies now.

W.O.W

That guy is awesome! Get him to work for the filmexperience! ;)

I'm really thrown by casting Nicole as Grace when she was at least ten years younger than Nicole at that time.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBia

Wow. That was intense. His 'Cold Mountain' performance easily bested Renee Zellweger's. LOVED the Kim Hunter, Hattie McDaniel and Monique ones.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPeter

yeah the Kim Hunter was choice. really fun video. but my absolute favorite impersonation was Anjelica Huston for Prizzi's Honor. A+

April 7, 2012 | Registered CommenterNATHANIEL R

Whenever I did Maerose Prizzi I used the line "I'm the family scandal." That whole sex dialogue felt the least Anjelica Huston-like because it lacked the theatricality of "I'm the family scandal."

The Patty Duke one made me laugh out loud! And the Mo'Nique one was superb.

Bia, Anne Thompson wrote a piece on why Nicole was asked to play the Grace Kelly role and she's pretty spot on:

http://blogs.indiewire.com/thompsononhollywood/nicole-kidman-as-grace-kelly-for-olivier-dahans-grace-of-monaco-poll#

Jeff Sneider of Variety also said that almost every female star who fit the description was gunning for it. But I mean, honestly, who else could play her? Maybe Charlize Theron. Basically any other actress in the same "age range" as Kelly during the time the film takes place would've been horrible picks. January Jones? Blake Lively? It would've been a disaster. The role itself honestly fits Kidman like a glove and I think she'll be fabulous.

As for the whole age thing, it's a silly thing to get hung up on. It's not like this is a case of someone in their mid 50s playing someone in their mid 30s. If you look at pictures of Kelly during the early 1960s, she was still obviously gorgeous but it's not like she looked impossibly youthful or anything. And Kidman still looks younger than her years and hair and make-up will surely fix anything else. I think she'll pull it off.

Charlize would have been perfect as Grace.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMike

I guess Charlize would've been more age appropriate but Nicole will be great. I didn't automatically think of her when the film was announced but when I saw that she got the role it just made clicked and made sense to me.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAllan

The age is one thing, but I'm sorry...this role seems like a complete disaster for Kidman. I agree that Charlize would've been a better fit.

I know Kidman is a risk-taker (her art films always impress), but this seems too extreme--even for her. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I can't see this ending well.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBia

I really don't see how this is seems "too extreme"? You're acting like this is a Lindsay Lohan playing Elizabeth Taylor type of situation.

Kidman has proven that she has the ability to transform herself for roles many times over and even then I don't even see this as that huge of a stretch for her.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterAllan

The Kim Basinger one killed me because it is just so true. I like Kim and love the movie, but her win is still a question mark in my head. Should a character's allure get you an Oscar? But then i guess Lynn Bracken wouldn't have been as alluring without Kim's performance....

yep. still undecided.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDerreck

I think what throws people with the casting of Kidman is that she's always shown alongside a picture of Kelly in her twenties. So course she is automatically going to look too old. I think she's the perfect choice. Theron isn't as elegant imo

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLeigh

Vid was hilarious. Loved Mo'nique and Eva Marie Saint!!

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLeigh

This is brilliant! My favorites are Kim Hunter, Parsons and Olympia Dukakis. I hope he does Best Actress someday.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPeggy Sue

I dont understand about the whole Charlize Theron thing... she has such a big frame, she looks so athletic and huge to be Grace Kelly.... Nicole Kidman is perfect... Cant wait for it to be in production

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMr Curiosity

I was thrown by the casting of Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly, not because I think she'll do a bad job (she's my favorite working actress), but because I've pictured Rosamund Pike in the role for so long. She was tailor made for that in my opinion, but I hear she's pregnant so I guess the timing wouldn't work anyway.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterthefilmjunkie

Nicole as Grace is gonna be very interesting for sure. Can't wait to see her in the finished look. As for the overall quality of the film, with this director... we'll see. Hope that another female-driven biopic from the 2011 Black List finds an exciting leading lady too. *cough Jackie O cough*

That Supporting Actress montage was freaky, lol. His Mo'nique is amazing though.
Derreck -- Agreed re: Basinger. He pretty much captured her whole performance there. Ditto with his Cate as Kate in The Aviator, although that's definitely a better performances overall.

I was howling from 1936 right up to 2011.
