The one, the only Ellen Greene.

Love Audrey so much. I'M SORRY, DOCTOR! Little Shop of Horrors is one of my favorite musicals. I love the alternate/original ending, it's so sad.

i'm still furious at the hollywood foreign press for overlooking this performance.
the oscars were never going to go for it but ellen greene's more worthy than most of the nominees that year

Nathaniel, I owe you (and this post) a HUGE thanks. When I saw the photo (with no article or explanation, other than the subject line) I thought, "Oh my God...did she die or something?" So I did a Google News search for Ellen Greene, and discovered that no, she did not die, and what's more, she's appearing in a one-night-only performance of Little Shop at CIty Center here in NY. (I fell in love with the original production as a kid -- but after she had already left, so I never got to see her. I did attend the very last Off-Broadway performance, and saw her in the lobby and got a picture with her that hung in my childhood bedroom for years.) Anyway...The show is this summer, but, tickets had gone on sale TODAY and it was nearly sold out. I scooped up two of the last remaining orchestra seats. THANK YOU! (And don't feed the plants.)

Severely underrated movie. People always seem to forget it existed when discussing great movie musicals, which makes me sad because Ellen Greene sells the SHIT out of it. A+ performance.

Is it nuts that I would have totally nominated Ellen Greene for Best Actress in 1986? I love this performance. It didn't even get a Globe nod...madness.

TPKIA i would have nominated her too. Brilliant star turn.

David -- that's why i posted it. I just got my tickets before posting it!

Nathaniel -- Yes, after the dust had settled, I figured it wasn't a coincidence that you posted that pic. I'll see you there!
