After lots of teasing -- and we're sick of teasing! -- a real trailer finally emerged for Netflix's Daredevil followup, Marvel's Jessica Jones starring Krysten Ritter. ICYMI it goes like so...
(On a personal note it'll be interesting to watch this one as for once I have no connection to the comic books. So much of contemporary comic book cinema and television is based on characters who've been around since before most of us were born. Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman are practically octogenarians. Most of the Marvel superstars at the movies recently hit the half century mark. Etcetera. Jessica Jones didn't emerge in comic books until 2001 long after I had stopped reading them so I have no idea what to expect. )

This one is from some place called "GumpTV" which I hope isn't inspired by Forrest himself (blech). The short is called "The Red Drum Getaway" and it pits Hitchcock's Jimmy Stewart against the sinister auteurism of Stanley Kubrick. Terrifically edited, well paced, and that finale. Wowee.

New Suicide Squad photos: 1. Okay, they're not actually backing down on Killer Croc. GOOD. 2. More Harley Quinn. Still ambivalent on the costume choice (it's Margot Robbie, you could put her in ANYTHING and she'd still be Margot Robbie). 3. Hmm, I think a little TOO menacing for the Harley's seduction by the Joker, but it might work better in context. 4. Moon symbol? If Suicide Squad fails, who wants to bet David Ayer tries to pitch a Moon Knight movie to Marvel?
Sorry, it's been a rough work week. I will be nicer after 5:00 when I can get drunk. This was my favorite part of the Variety piece: "Kidman was most recently seen [in] “Queen of the Desert” and “Grace of Monaco.”" By whom?
The Hitchcock/Kubrick short is brilliant.
As someone who adores and love the Alias book Jessica Jones is based on…reaaaaaally hoping it's something special. If it isn't, no biggie. But I would love more quality stories with that character.
Oh Cheno. She has such a wonderful ability to tell stories with her voice.
I work with too many theater educators who think Oklahoma! is too dated to perform anymore. It's a classic and Chenoweth proves it. Love that show.
