Nathaniel's Best Supporting Actress Ballot

by Nathaniel R

Da'Vine Joy Randolph owns the Best Supporting Actress party. She brought baked goods and "it".

Dearest readers, imagine my terror when I realized this morning that it was just one week until the Oscars. That's the deadline to finish the Film Bitch Awards (at least in the Oscar-parallel categories). So let's have our final pre-Oscar discussion about Best Supporting Actress, mine and theirs...

by Nathaniel R

Rachel McAdams in "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret."

Oscar nomination voting began yesterday morning and will continue through Tuesday, January 16th at 5 PM. Word has it that the bulk of Academy members vote early in the time frame. Friday Awards Wrap-Up: Toronto, Dublin, and so much more

by Cláudio Alves

At long last, Danielle Brooks has won something for her performance in THE COLOR PURPLE.As the holiday break looms large on the horizon, a veritable tsunami of critics groups decided to announce their winners. It was a busy week, extending past the US regional prizes, and some consensus is forming. Killers of the Flower Moon has won almost a quarter of Best Picture honors, while Christopher Nolan is favored in Best Director. Oscar Volley: Is Best Supporting Actress a Done Deal?

Team Experience is discussing each Oscar category as we head into the precursors. Here's Ben Miller and Cláudio Alves to talk Best Supporting Actress...

Do you think Gladstone or Mulligan would win if they were here, and do you think they should be?  I am of the opinion they should both be leads, though I think Gladstone would be undeniable if she was thusly categorized...

The 2023 Gold Digger Mid-Year Awards: "Past Lives" and "Asteroid City" Win Big!

by Cláudio Alves

Earlier this month, I shared the Gold Digger Mid-Year Awards nominations, and now it's time to talk winners. First, one should mention that the group, organized by Patrick Gratton, comprises over forty people, spanning from cinephiles to critics and historians, including some members of Team Experience. Second, between nods and victories, the voting process took around a month, with hundreds of films mentioned and much love for cinema. Now, the final results are in, with Celine Song's Past Lives confirming itself as the season's grand winner – the film is currently available on VOD for those interested in experiencing its bittersweet resolutions.

Though they didn't take the top prize, Asteroid City and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse were also big champions in the final ballot...
