Natalie Portman as Jackie

She definitely looks the part.

What's the first thought that came to you when you saw this picture?

As far as I'm concerned, Katie Holmes is the only Jackie Kennedy we need.
Joking, joking...yikes. Could you imagine?

First thought: They are making another biopic?

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterkin

"I wish this was Rachel Weisz", thats my first thought.
(Probably my last, thought, too.)

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAndrewK.

First thought: "That's not Olivia Pope!"

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPaul Outlaw

AndrewK - That thought's always with me! ;)

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterCarlos

YAS! Sue me people, but I love me some oscar winning actresses playing great women in history.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterCraver

First thoughts: Where is the signature hat?.... Is that a white hat above her head or is it a halo or maybe part of the arch window.... OH well... she is crowned anyway...

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMax

First thought: Oh lord, the Kennedys again?

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterKeith

First thought: I'm still not convinced Natalie Portman has transitioned to a consistently engaging actress as an adult.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBrian Zitzelman

"Are they already rebooting Mad Men?"

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJohn T

It can't be worse than Diana or Grace of Monaco, right?

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterthefilmjunkie

My first thought was; along with"Yay! She looks great!"; "Who's playing JFK?".

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterChris

"Oh, that's cute, she's playing dress up", was my first honest thought lol.

BTW the movie is only supposed to cover her in the immediate aftermath of JFK's assassination, from what I recall reading the synopsis on The Black List from a couple years ago. So at least it's not a dreaded cradle-to-grave biopic.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMark The First

When is this airing on Lifetime?

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterWatt Finnegan

My first reaction was a groan, AGAIN, so unimaginative.
Then I saw it was Natalie Portman, and the same director who did Black Swan - well at least she can put that little girl voice of hers to more good use.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterLadyEdith

She looks the part? Really? My first thought was that she looks nothing like Jackie.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterchinoiserie

""I wish this was Rachel Weisz", thats my first thought."

This is ALWAYS the correct answer

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterAnonny

First thought: Finally, a capable actress cast as Jackie.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPatryk

It was a cranky, groan-like thought that evaporated before it even became language.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNick Davis

No one can ever duplicate the real Jackie. A true / one of a kind superstar Goddess. put a Chanel suit on these actresses - it doesn't work.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJimmy

Natalie Portman (whom I have had a giant nerd crush on ever since Star Wars) is a great actress, but I feel she is too young to play this part. Maybe she is the actual age Jackie was at the time of the movie, but Portman just registers youth to me. She is like a female Dicaprio, still retaining youth and not looking their age. That isn't always a bad thing, but it can be distracting.

December 16, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterTom

My first thought was REMEMBER PARKER POSEY IN HOUSE OF YES?

December 16, 2015 | Registered CommenterNATHANIEL R

I wish Natasha the best.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJessica Chastain

She is working the look, the pose and the hand position in this video, starting at about 05:45.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPaul Outlaw

Black Swan 2 : The First Lady Unravels

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered Commentermurtada

I thought she doesn't look as pale as she did as Queen Amidala. Would JF Kennedy for her? Don't know.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterJames T

Are you Jackie or a Marilyn?

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered Commentercal roth

Pablo Larraín is the director. Respect.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPeggy Sue

Eh... It doesn't excite me.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPhilip H.

She looks like a little girl dressing up in her mom's clothes. I don't think she fits the part at all.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterPhilip H.

More like Jaclyn Smith as Jackie than the real Jackie...

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterrick gould

Parker Posey in House of Yes did this better.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBia

Jeanne Tripplehorn came closest, but it's the voice that's always impossible to capture. Drew Barrymore caught the accent admirably as her relative.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterDan

Natalie Portman > Rachel Weisz. Discuss.

Also: Pablo Larrain?! Wow. Respect.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered Commentergoran

Parker Posey in The House of Yes was my second thought. Because of visual similarity, Rachael Leigh Cook in The House of Yes was my first thought.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterScottC

I thought it was Simmons from Agents of Shield, who got stuck in a time eddy while she and Fitz were looking for a portal to that place.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered Commenteradri

Thanks for even noticing. If this and Jane Got a Gun fails, it's Netflix for me.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterNatalie Portman

Deleted scene from Lee Daniels' The Butler?

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterBilly

goran - But Rachel Weisz is British and not as famous as Portman, ergo she must be better!

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterSuzanne

Lifetime's new opus "Jack and Jackie: A Love Story"

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered Commenterbrookesboy

The suit's too big for her.

December 17, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterDanny Hall

My first thought was: finally!

1: This is the famous script that was running around hollywood getting raves and waiting to be done.
2: The director! Yay!
3: It's one of those biopics that cover a short episode of the subject's life which is always better than the wholw life story. In this case the 4 days after JFK assesination (so nobody plays JFK you'all)
4: Natalie looks spot on in the first pic.

December 18, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterSeisgrados

Billy -- brilliant!

December 18, 2015 | Registered CommenterNATHANIEL R

Parker Posey in The House Of Yes was totally my first thought too - probably because of the framing, but also because there's a tiny part of me hoping to see Parker Posey in every photo on the Internet.
