Podcast: Moonlight, Sully, and Birth of a Nation
Impossible though it may be to believe, the podcast is back after an unintended hiatus. Joe, Nick, Nathaniel, Katey (and special guest Charlie) are all in house to discuss the arthouse hit Moonlight with a little on previous releases Sully and Birth of a Nation, too. Please continue the conversation in the comments if you've seen any of the films!

Thankless Marvel roles: I probably wouldn't put The Collector on there. At least, when laid against what he typically does (his Sicario performance is kind of overrated, frankly), The Collector is a breath of fresh air in Del Toro's filmography, which is more than I can say for Glenn Close or ESPECIALLY John C. Reilly in Guardians. Also: Love that the article perpetuates the idea that voice performance is "beneath" discussion and merit. That's how we get Joy Mangano over Amy Poehler's Joy as an Oscar nominated performance, people. Be better with that, please, critics.
Yay!!!
Segment one of Moonlight is the weakest aside from Ali's commanding performance that hovers over the whole movie. The segment abruptly ends when you want more time with Ali's character.
I was ridiculously excited to see the podcast pop up in my feed for my commute to work this morning - great to hear you guys again!
Lol at 'The way we queer'.
Can't wait to see Moonlight, but I'm not sure when it is going to be released in Australia.
OMG OMG OMG thank you thank you thank you
Gonna listen soon!
Great podcast, guys.
Like Ez, I have no idea when it's coming out in Greece :(
Is this spoiler-free?
Very excited for the podcast! When is the next supporting actress smackdown???
Hoping Nick still makes his Fifties and 2016 Acting Contenders pages! So valuable last year. Love this podcast, and I can't WAIT for Moonlight.
Moonlight will win Best Picture.
Just saw Moonlight over the weekend (and loved it, like everyone else), so this was perfect timing! Agree with you, Nathaniel, that the film's gorgeous color palette really stands out. It's probably the most visually beautiful film I've seen in a long time.
